Hello everyone, another student at the BAC has planned an ICA visit for April 16 - so we are joining them! April 16th is a Thursday, so admission is FREE! There is a building tour of the ICA starting at 6:00pm - so show up early if you want to beat the lines! The ICA is located by the waterfront in Boston and is currently displaying Shepard Fairey... see below for a short bio on the artist.
Shepard Fairey was born in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1970 and currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He received a BA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1991. He has had recent solo exhibitions at Merry Karnowsky Gallery, Los Angeles (2007); Jonathan Levine Gallery, New York (2007); Stolen Space, London (2007); and Galerie Magda Danysz, Paris (2006). His work is in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego; and the National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC. Fairey is also the founder of Studio Number One, a graphic design company.
