Elkus|Manfredi Architects (EMA) describes its work as first and foremost about collaboration. Since its founding in 1988, EMA has worked on many important planning and design projects undertaken across the country, including retail, corporate, academic, hospitality, commercial, and residential. A number of its projects have been LEED certified. Clients include Bank of America, Babson College, Harvard University, and Starwood Hotels.

EMA is well-versed in the ways that connectivity, location, market pressures, sustainability, and other elements play into the unique matrix that each project represents. "We have gained insight into what has historically worked and what hasn’t," says EMA, "and can take an educated look into the future to anticipate needs not yet evident. This adds enormous substance to our work."

EMA has won numerous awards, including, among others, a 2009 Office Project of the Year for Cityplace Tower, a 2009 Preservation Achievement Award for Charles/MGH MBTA Station, and a 2009 Pillar Award for Best High-Rise Apartment Community for The Market at Pinehills.
