Learn about Architecture Firms Coming Out of Recession & Preparing Students for Practice

This time, like all other times, is a very good one, if we know what to do with it." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
THE PRACTICE DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON ARCHITECTURAL COLLEGE
will host an evening celebrating projects undertaken by students these past two semesters under the Special Projects in Practice program. Select work from community-based initiatives throughout Boston, organized design competitions, and modest independent design ventures, each sanctioned and supervised by members of the Practice faculty, will be on display. We live in times of exponential change. The scores of students involved in this experiment understand that they need to consider anew what it means to be engaged in Practice, honing skills and defining for themselves how to succeed.
Following the one-hour reception, please join a BAC Town Meeting in Cascieri Hall. A panel of invited guests drawn from a cross section of AEC practitioners will share personal stories, lessons learned from the current recession. We hope to instigate a lively discussion and have us question: How does this array of experiences serve to inform us about how to best prepare our students for Practice?
This event is free and open to the public.
