Several members of the Student Development, Practice, and Advising staff at the Boston Architectural College wore purple on Wednesday October 20, 2010 as part of the nationwide Spirit Day campaign and GLSEN Ally Week to show their support for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ally (GLBTA) community.

Teenager Brittany McMillan created this event with GLAAD to get people to rally together and show LGBT youth who face bullying that there is a large community of people who accept and support them. The wearing of purple on Spirit Day also honors the teenagers who have taken their lives in recent weeks due to anti-GLBT bullying.

Here at the BAC, we welcome diversity in all forms into our vibrant campus community. For more information on our institutional commitment to diversity, please see the
Diversity portion of our website.

The BAC
Campus Compact also outlines a no tolerance policy toward discrimination due to personal bias about race, gender, ethnic origin, religion, sexual preference, age, or disability.
