Professor Volpe has been developing the art and craft of teaching landscape design since co-founding the first studio courses at the Landscape Design Program at Radcliffe Seminars in the 70's. His introductory course has been highly valued not only at the Radcliffe Seminars, the Landscape Institute, and the University of Massachusetts, but also at Rutgers University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of British Columbia. Professor Volpe’s approach to teaching design won an award from the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture and he has lectured on landscape design education at conferences in the US and Europe. He is currently making these presentations into a book.
