Competition: One Prize

The Sixth Borough of New York City

In conjunction with Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s launching to the WAVES (Waterfront Vision and Enhancement Strategy) initiative in April 2010, ONE PRIZE is calling for proposals for the NYC Blue Network and Clean Tech World Expo E3NYC.

The first proposal for the “Blue Network” is calling participants to design for the expansion of waterborne transportation and the linkage of the five boroughs with the waterways. This would include electric passenger ferries, water taxies, bike shares, electric car shares, providing in-water recreation, and water-oriented educational and cultural activities. The goal is to incorporate the water just as much as the other five boroughs are linked together.

The second proposal is calling for a design for the upcoming World’s Largest Clean Tech Expo E3NYC in 2014. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1964 NY World’s Fair, New York will be hosting this expo in the hopes of creating “the world’s largest urban clean tech corridor along the water” and by doing so become the ultimate green capital.

Registration must be complete by April 30th. Forms are available on the competitions website.
