The challenge of the competition is for the BAC community to generate preliminary design concepts for a project known as The World Unity Landmark. Through architecture and landscape design, this innovative project brings together poetry and design to promote a vision for diversity. Entries will eventually be submitted for review by a jury comprised of leaders from the community.
Our goal is to have a preliminary design concept to showcase to the City and to the Urban League at their National Conference this summer. All competition boards must be submitted to the PACE Center/BAC Practice Department on the 3rd floor of 322 Newbury Street; confirmed receipt must occur no later than 5pm, Wednesday, June 20th.
The competition is open to current BAC students and recent graduates, working individually or in supervised teams. Any entrants interested in earning Practice credits must work in confirmed/declared teams and coordinate through the Practice Department with approved oversight in order to compete. Prior notification to the Practice Department is required.
All students or teams that are entering the competition need to register to receive a number even if they are not planning to seek Practice credit. Please contact the Practice Department for a registration form.
If you have any further questions about the competition and how to participate, please contact Practice at firstname.lastname@example.org.
