The Boston Public Library offers free tours of the Boston Public Library exhibition Torn in Two: The 150th Anniversary of the Civil War which includes 50 historic maps interwoven with 40 photographs, paintings, prints, diaries, political cartoons, music and press of the period, all from the Boston Public Library's special collections. The tours last about an hour and will include the companion exhibition, Home Front: Boston and the Civil War. Tours begin in the Torn in Two exhibition, located in the Changing Exhibits Room on the first floor of the McKim Building (Dartmouth Street entrance) at the Central Library in Copley Square. No appointment is necessary.

There are two Civil War Exhibition Tours offered each week through October 29: Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m.
These tours are part of the Boston Public Library’s commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.
