Holiday Presents :: Virtual Menorah

Hanukkah begins today at sundown. Hanukkah is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt of the 2nd century BCE.

Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days the lighting of the candles of a nine-branched Menorah (Hanukiah). The central candle (shamash) stays lit for each of the eight nights, with an additional candle lit as each day of Hanukkah progresses.
