As we come together at the BAC to teach and learn, we form a very unique community of professionals, and those preparing to become professionals. To ensure that it runs smoothly, the BAC Campus Compact is a document that spells out in detail the professional, ethical standards we uphold at the Boston Architectural College.
In addition to basic ideas -- it won't surprise you that a BAC community member must obey all laws -- the Compact goes further, to ensure a productive, safe, respectful learning environment for everybody. It includes a No Hazing Policy which by law all colleges in Massachusetts must have, as well as helpful web links to the ethical standards of the AIA, the ASLA, and IIDA.
Because we are a NAAB accredited college of architecture, we also have a BAC Studio Culture Statement which has been reviewed by the AIAS leadership. This document outlines the expectations on faculty and students for a productive studio environment that maintains an "atmosphere of optimism, collaboration, innovation, and respect for diversity".
If you have any questions about these documents, please contact Richard Griswold, Associate Provost and Dean of Students.
