Lighting for truly sustainable building sites and urban spaces must minimize negative environmental impacts without reducing lighting quality. Looking forward, trends in sustainable site lighting such as the proper use of LED luminaries will be explored. Glenn Heinmiller, IALD, LC, LEED AP andKeith J. Yancey, AIA, P.E., LC, IALD Principals at the architectural lighting design firm Lam Partners will be presenting.
In this presentation the basics of high-quality exterior lighting design will be reviewed, as well as how to eliminate or control the negative effects. They will discuss the fundamental steps to achieve a highly-energy-efficient design. Light pollution will be explained and its causes and prevention methods described, and the LEED light pollution credit will be reviewed.
