This is Michelle's first glide house. Her and her husband Kevin designed this home together and live there.  The inside of this home is bright, open, and beautiful. When building this home, she was influenced by Japanese homes and the rural farm buildings from her childhood home in Iowa. The design was more focused on function than looks. They wanted to design big but not build big, they made the house feel bigger than it was through careful design. They were on a tight budget, they didn't want to spend a lot to build the house and they didn't want a large energy bill. To save them from turning on the lights during the day and to connect with the landscape, they have windows and openings to let in the natural light.
