NEPA Chapter of AIA Scholarship Fund



The NEPA Chapter of AIA Scholarship Fund was established and funded by members of the NEPA Chapter of American Institute of Architects (“AIA”) to provide scholarship assistance to qualified applicants serious about their long-term pursuit of architecture as a profession and career. They recognize that architecture is as much an art as a science which requires significant commitment from its students. They, as AIA members, commit themselves to be mentors and to provide internships to regional architectural interns.

Further, the NEPA AIA Chapter hopes and encourages students to live and practice their profession within Northeastern Pennsylvania after graduation.

Criteria:
1. Recipient must have their legal residence within the nine (9) county territory of the NEPA AIA Chapter: Bradford, Sullivan, Columbia, Susquehanna, Lackawanna, Wayne, Luzerne, Wyoming, Pike, Sullivan.

2. While the scholarship is open to an architectural student, at any accredited school, who qualifies under Item No. 1 (above); The Luzerne Foundation will actively search only to those architectural schools within a 400 mile radius of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

3. The recipient must have;
a. successfully completed one (1) full academic year at a college or university with an accredited bachelors of architecture or masters of architecture program.
b. obtained a non-professional bachelors degree and has been accepted into an accredited masters of architecture program.
4. The recipient must demonstrate financial need
5. Attach all documentation, portfolios, references and essays as required on page four (4).
