For their Fall 2012 New York City Trip, the Boston Society of Landscape Architects is attending The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) conference, entitled, "Bridging the Nature-Culture Divide: Stewardship of Central Park's Woodlands"

The conference will take place on Friday, October 5 and offers up to 6 Professional Development hours for Landscape Architects. On Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7, TCLF is offering over 25 free guided tours in parks, gardens and other significant landscapes throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. For more information and to register for the October 5 Conference click here.

Explore the Big Apple's iconic landscapes and hidden gems during What's Out There Weekend NYC. On October 6 and 7, The Cultural Landscape Foundation in partnership with NY ASLA will host free, expert-led tours at more than two-dozen historically significant landscapes in New York. Sites include Midtown Modernist gems, picturesque parks throughout the boroughs, great civic spaces such as Prospect Park's Grand Army Plaza, Wave Hill's majestic views of the Hudson River, and Woodlawn Cemetery's unmatched romance and memorials designed by some of the country's most illustrious landscape architects and architects. The tours teach people about city shaping, landscape architecture and the design history of places they may pass every day but don't necessarily know about.
