Spirit Day :: Go Purple
Friday October 19, 2012 at 12:15 pm
The Loft, 320 Newbury St, 2nd Floor
Show Your Spirit on Friday October 19, 2012! Millions of Americans wear purple on Spirit Day as a sign of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and to speak out against bullying.
Spirit Day was started in 2010 by teenager Brittany McMillan as a response to the young people who had taken their own lives. Observed annually, individuals, schools, organizations, corporations, media professionals and celebrities wear purple, which symbolizes spirit on the rainbow flag.
Getting involved is easy - we are asking BAC students, instructors, and staff members to wear purple on Friday October 19th to show their support of the GLBT community on campus. We will be gathering in The Loft at 12:15 pm to take a group photo and some candid shots.
Are you working during our photo shoot? Email Becky Anderson a photo of you at work in your spirited purple clothes to be added to the album of pictures we collect.
