The aim of the [PACIFIC] New Ocean Platform Prison Design Competition is to develop a prison that uses an oil platform in the Pacific Ocean as a reference structure. The design of the new platform should include all the facilities that a prison would need, which would include, cells, exercise space, kitchens, etc.
The architecture selected will reflect a contemporary aesthetic and respect human rights, despite its use as a mode of confinement. This is a single stage competition and the winning participants will receive prizes totaling $6,000.
