If any student has a question for Advising, please email or call 617-585-0160. One of the Advisors will be happy to assist to you - and when you’re ready to schedule a meeting, we will be sure to pair you up with an Advisor.

Feel free to stop by their office suite on the first floor of the 320 Newbury building to say hello!

Jordan Alexander, Academic Advisor
Jordan is originally from New Jersey but has lived in many places in the U.S. over the last ten years. While pursuing a bachelor degree in Music Education at the University of Vermont, she discovered her true passions lay in higher education and social justice. Thus, she went on to Colorado State University to obtain both a Master Degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education and a certificate in Women’s Studies. Jordan is new to the Boston area and is looking forward to exploring all the city has to offer. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and crafting at home with her partner Brian, her cat Lilo, and a cup of tea.

Nicole Johnson, Academic Advisor
Nickie is originally from Illinois, and received a degree in Aviation Flight Science from Western Michigan University. She worked as the Recruiting and Outreach Officer for Western Michigan University's College of Aviation before coming to the BAC. Working in recruiting and outreach helped Nickie realize that her true calling was in education. She moved to Boston and joined the BAC team as an Academic Advisor in the fall of 2012. Nickie is enjoying exploring Boston and the many exciting places on the East Coast.

Christina Liu, Academic Advisor and Writing Instructor
Christina received her M.F.A. in Writing and Publishing from Emerson College in 2003. She is originally from New York, and learned English through a bilingual elementary program, which fostered her love of language. In addition to her advising role at the BAC, she teaches writing and runs the BAC Mentoring Program. She has also taught and tutored at Emerson College and the Berklee College of Music and has served as an ESL counselor/outreach worker for Quincy Asian Resources, Inc. and Quincy Community Action Programs. A published poet, Christina’s other interests include art museums, gastronomy, yoga, and walking around the beautiful city of Boston.
Karen Keough, Assistant Director of Academic Services and Disability Services Coordinator
Karen was born and raised in Massachusetts and received her M.S.W. degree from the Simmons School of Social Work in Boston. Prior to joining the BAC’s Academic Services Team, Karen spent three years at Bay State College as a Student Success Coordinator/Disability Support Services Coordinator. She has a passion for supporting and advocating for students and takes great pleasure in joining them as they celebrate their many successes. Karen enjoys spending time with her family, visiting warm places, and taking full advantage of every free moment to spend with her rambunctious pup, Toby!

Rebecca Chabot-Wieferich, Director of Academic Services
Rebecca is originally from Michigan and received her M.Ed. degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from The University of Vermont. Prior to coming to the BAC Rebecca lived in Connecticut where she was the Transfer/Sophomore Mentor at Sacred Heart University. Rebecca started at the BAC as an Academic Advisor in 2008 and advanced to the Director role in the fall of 2012. New England has become home to Rebecca over the years and she loves the range of activities that it provides, from snowshoeing to kayaking.
