Mentoring Informational Session

Mentoring Informational Session
Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 5-6 pm
Fishbowl, 320 Newbury St, 1st Floor

The BAC Mentoring Program is proud to have Elaine Bello, long-time Practice Faculty member and accomplished interior designer, speak at an informational session on Mentoring. Light refreshments will be provided. All interested students should contact: to sign up for the event.

Elaine Bello is a founder of the ID Programs of the BAC and has served on the faculty since 1979 after directing the program for seven years. She now also serves on the executive advisory board. Since May, 2007, she serves as Director of Berard Martel's Interior Design Department, where her responsibilities include project design and staff management, development of internal resources, coordination with in-house architects and client liaison services.

At the BAC, Mentors help with many aspects of professional growth:  resumes and cover letters, portfolios, interview skills, the culture of design, time management, general design help, and so much more.

Organized by Academic Advisor, Christina Liu, the program incorporates architecture, interior design, design studies, and landscape architecture. It exists as an additional means of support for the BAC via the Academic Services Department. All BAC students are eligible to join as mentees.

Advanced students (Segments 2 and 3), BAC Alumni, Overseers, Faculty, and Staff are all encouraged to join as mentors.  Mentoring is a professional, friendly relationship, and its etymology is Greek; We owe this word to the heroic age of Homer. Mentor was a friend of Odysseus and adviser of Telemachus in The Odyssey!
