Incident in Copley Square/Back Bay/Downtown



The Boston Architectural College has been directed by Longwood Security, in conjunction with the Boston Police Department, to close all BAC buildings for any uses, until further notice. Appropriate information will be provided by BAC email and on the BAC website to update students.

The City of Boston is advising people to stay calm and avoid the Copley Square area to allow law enforcement to continue their investigation.

Google has set up a person finder website here. If you were at the marathon today or are trying to find someone who was at the marathon, please consider using that medium.

Family members looking for information relative to individuals possibly injured during the incident are encouraged to call 617-635-4500.

The Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts is urging people to reach out to loved ones via social media, so cell phone signals will be able to be used by emergency responders and essential personnel in the area. Please consider contacting your families via social media to reassure them that you are safe.

As of 6:30 pm, the MBTA is reporting that all MBTA lines are open. To check the current status of MBTA services, please click here before leaving. Residual delays in service can be expected.
