Common Build IT! The 2013 CBCB competition kicks-off Thursday, May 30th. The Common Boston Common Build (CBCB) is a design and construction competition that challenges participants to design and build a project in response to real needs in just under 3 days.
Based on this year's Common Boston Week festival theme "The Vital Street", teams are invited to explore the rich history of Boston's waterways as a catalyst for commerce, trade, community-building and engagement. As a thoroughfare, the Boston Harbor is a continuous force transforming our great city with its vessels that transport goods, people, and even ideas of all variety to Boston's blessed shore.
In the spirit of adventure represented by our beloved Harbor, this year's CBCB teams will be tasked with creating FLOATING projects! Be on one of 10 teams to sign up to compete in this forward-thinking, expansive, and buoyant exchange, the very first of its kind in eight years of Common Boston programming!
Please register each member of your team. No limit to team size. Note that we also encourage "free agents" to sign up and join a team by/at the kick-off event. Be sure to download and send in registration materials found on cbcb.commonboston.org.
The Kick-Off is Thursday, May 30th from 6 pm-8 pm, when the build location, site partner, and Common Material will be revealed, and the competition clock starts counting down to noon on Sunday.
Find out the build location at cbcb.commonboston.org any time after the kick-off. More information can be found here.
