BAC Mentoring, in collaboration with the Practice Department, are excited to present a professional development workshop to City X students on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. This event will take place in Cascieri Hall, the Loft, and the 1st floor conference room of 320 Newbury Street (Fishbowl) from 5:30 - 7 pm.
City X students will have the opportunity to meet BAC Practice Faculty and the larger BAC community for advice about professional development. BAC Mentors, Practice Faculty, Staff, and BAC Faculty are all invited to participate in this workshop. Practice Faculty member, Elaine Bello, will be our special guest. She will speak on the value of mentoring within the design professions. This is a valuable networking opportunity for everyone involved.
Jordan Alexander and Christina Liu, co-organizers of the Mentoring Program, will introduce the BAC Mentoring/Peer Mentoring Program and will be on hand to make sure all participants are involved, connected, and happy!
About Elaine Bello
Having established herself as a professional interior architect while at the Stubbins Associates in the early 80's, she has since developed a business model that blends interior design and architecture quite effectively. Her work takes place in the greater New England area and addresses an array of building types from insurance offices and cathedrals, libraries and college dorms to restaurants and cruise ship theaters.
Elaine first joined the BAC team in 1979 with an eye towards developing an interior design program. As that program grew, she stepped back from the leadership position to teach many of the courses. Her work in the Practice Department has dovetailed nicely with these efforts. She places a high value on healthy living; she plays out in her giant vegetable garden and on the ski slopes where she acts as a lead instructor.
