Throwback Sunday :: 70s Halloween Party

Photo owned by Boston Architectural College Archives
The two images we have for your viewing pleasure were taken at a costume party held in 320 Newbury St, sometime in the 1970s.

The photo above was taken in the McCormick Gallery. The tile you see on that floor still exists today, located underneath the current flooring of the Gallery. It is the same tile exists today and is visible in the first floor women's bathroom.

The students covered the Gallery windows with tinfoil for the dance, both as decor and privacy from Newbury St onlookers.

The photo above was taken on either the 4th or 5th floor of 320 Newbury St. The benches along the right wall can still be seen in the 100 Mass Ave building.

If anyone can identify a person in this photo, or the exact year, please contact the Archives at 617.585.0133 or via email. The archives would love to hear of memories or stories related to the photos that we post.

In honor of the BAC's 125th Anniversary, the blog will feature something from the BAC Archives on the first Sunday of each month -- a photo, an interesting news clipping, BAC memorabilia, or something interesting from the BAC's past.
