Silverman Trykowski Associates is a firm that focuses on architecture and interiors. Their blog features entries from nearly everyone in their firm about things happening in Boston, and around the world. I was surprised to see how many BAC alumni, faculty, and even current students work at STA.
Some blog posts are musings about Boston locations like how the experience of being at Fenway Park has inspired Felice Silverman, a BAC Overseer, Alumni, and Principal at Silverman Trykowski Associates. Other posts speak to reasons why some of the STA team went into the design field.
Another recent entry has David Silverman, also a BAC Alum and Principal at STA, writing about visiting the Commonwealth Building, designed by Pietro Belluschi. Posts like this allow you get to know the people working at STA on a personal, yet professional level. You get to see their team's inspiration, work, and interests, all while getting a feel for what working with their firm would be like.
One of my favorite posts on their blog is titled, Herman Miller Design Challenge. Using a chair as a blank canvas, artists and designers were ask to decorate a Eames Molder Plastic Shell Chair to display their creativity.
The Herman Miller Design Challenge post contains photos of their processes, and shows their process from beginning to end. It seems like their team had a lot of fun working on this together. From posts like this, their firm seems to have a great work atmosphere that supports their personal interests, but also helps them grow through being able to talk about their work, and the interesting things that they see in the design world.
