Join the BAC for 28 days in Paris this summer. Since 2002, Rich Griswold, BAC Associate Provost and Dean of Students and Jovi Cruces, Senior Associate at Dimella Shaffer Associates, have taken over one hundred students on a month-long, city-based study abroad.
Each year the group forms a ‘one-room schoolhouse’ of graduates and undergraduates in all degree programs. Students take 6 credits including studios, design workshops, visual studies, history/theory and humanities electives. Each student’s coursework will be individualized, allowing participants to make progress towards completing their specific program.
A commitment to substantial pre-departure work and class time is required. The emphasis will be on the use and development of student sketchbooks as the repository of all student work. Classes start Monday June 1, 2015, with travel from July 5th to August 3rd.
The group will be based in Paris with excursions to Leon, Ronchamp, Basel, Switzerland, and the Vitra complex at Weil am Rein, Germany.
The full cost, including 6 BAC credits, is:
Financial Aid and some scholarship funding will be available for qualified students.
This comprehensive program includes round-trip group flight, housing in apartments shared with other BAC students, excursions, metro pass, museum entrances, transfer to and from the airport, as well as a strong orientation program and use of studio/classroom space at Accent. The main additional expenses will be food and supplies.
