As part of ASLA’s Leadership Visits, the BAC hosted ASLA immediate-past President, Mark A. Focht; Deputy Commissioner of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. More than a few BAC students were able to meet Mark, and further learn about Philadelphia's Green Infrastructure Plan.
Focht presented his keynote address titled, "Green City, Clean Waters: The Philadelphia Story." The lecture focused on the innovative and strategic green storm water management practices of the City of Philadelphia. Focht was able to discuss how he helped the city accomplish a revitalization and stewardship plan that has beneficially impacted the way urban communities handle storm water. He also shared about the importance of partnerships and public outreach; which have contributed to the success of his leadership and Philadelphia's Green City, Clean Waters Plan.
