Call for Submissions :: Illuminus Festival
Submissions Due: 8.20.15
ILLUMINUS is seeking applications for innovative projects that cross disciplinary boundaries and engage a diverse public audience for exhibition at the 2015 Festival on Lansdowne Street. Both new and existing works are eligible for submission, and we accept projects in any medium but give special consideration to the following categories:
- Light, Sound or Projection Installations
- Audio / Visual Performances
- Interactive or Participatory Projects
- Experiential Art Installations
Selections will be based on the following criteria:
- Creative Vision / Artistic Merit
- Innovation in Technology or Process
- Relationship of the Project to the Spectator
- Engagement with the Proposed Site
Awards: All selected projects will be awarded a $500 artist honorarium and up to $5,000 for materials or production related expenses. Applicants should provide a detailed breakdown of their technical needs and anticipated cost to implement their project. ILLUMINUS will provide power to all projects as well as technical support and equipment (rigging, projection, audio systems) as resources allow.
Information Sessions: We will be hosting optional information sessions and site tours on Wednesday, August 5th at 7PM and Saturday, August 8th at 2PM. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the date of the tour you are registering for and “Site Tour” as the subject line to RSVP.
To Submit a Project: Register at www.illuminusboston.slideroom.com Applicants will be asked to upload a description of their project, team bios, resumes, an itemized budgets, relevant video links, and 1-3 images. A PDF of potential project locations is available for download below.
Online Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Thursday, August 20th, 2015
