The future leaders in commercial design have an opportunity to showcase their creative talents while competing to win cash prizes for innovative designs in the SurfaceSet™ 2016 Student Innovation Competition by Formica Corporation- a new competition for students enrolled in interior design programs and architectural schools.

How to Enter:

1) Create and submit a color rendering of an interior commercial space, utilizing at least three (3) Formica® Brand designs from the SurfaceSet™ 2016 by Formica Corporation collection. Be sure to list the names of the Formica® Brand products you utilized on the rendering! Submissions may consist of up to three renderings (views or room angles) for the interior commercial space. Submission must be entirely your own wok, or the work of your student design team.

2) Draft a project statement describing the project and explaining how the Formica® Brand products were integral to the end result. Keep it short, 300 words or less.

3) Send your completed rendering(s) and statement, along with your name, email address, phone number, physical address and school name to between October 1, 2015 and October 31, 2015.

*Your rendering should be submitted as  JPEG, PNG, or PDF file and be no larger than 10MB.

How to Win:

One grand-prize winner, a second-prize winner, and a third-prize winner will be determined from 10 finalists by our distinguished judging panel; designer and potter Jonathan Adler and Renee Hytry Derrington, VP of Design for Fletcher Building’s Laminates & Panels Division, which includes Formica Corporation. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions for detailed judging criteria!

The Prize:

The first-prize winner will be awarded $5,000 and a signed pottery piece from Jonathan Adler, the second-prize winner will be awarded $1,000 and the third-prize winner will be awarded $500! Utilize the winnings however you'd like...but may we suggest to pay off school loans or to launch your post-graduate career?
