The 2016 ACADIA Conference welcomes applications for Student Travel Scholarships!

About the Student Scholarships:
The ACADIA Student Scholarship program (Supported by Autodesk) was created to support students and recent graduates whose Full Paper, Work-in-Progress Paper or Project Submission have been accepted. A total of $8000 will be divided and awarded to multiple recipients at the discretion of the ACADIA Scholarship Committee consisting of ACADIA Board Members and the Conference Chairs. The purpose of the scholarship is to support only individuals who will attend the conference. Winners of this award will be chosen by ACADIA BOD sub-committee and scholarships will be acknowledged during ACADIA awards ceremony.

Application Requirements:
The funds must be used for the following expenses: airfare to the conference, accommodations, registration, and ground transportation. Only one scholarship will be awarded per paper or project submission. If a paper or project has been co-authored it will be the responsibility of the co-authors to distribute the funds within the group. In all cases funds should be distributed only to the author(s) attending the conference. Funds not used to attend the conference must be returned to ACADIA.

The completed application should be submitted by 12pm (midnight) on August 28, 2016 (PT). Awards will be announced by September 15, 2016. Awardees will be informed by email and will be asked to accept the grant formally and to verify their attendance at the conference at that time. All applicants will be notified of the decision on their proposal, but detailed evaluation information will not be available. Scholarship funds will be dispersed in USD shortly after the announcement.

Evaluation Criteria:
Evaluation of the proposals would be based on: Financial need, The quality and appropriateness of the application, Potential to significantly contribute to the organization in the future.

Institutional Support:
Since the Scholarship is intended to be a supplement to other travel funds and not a replacement, a supporting contribution from the applicant’s home institution or other funding source is highly suggested. In addition, the Taubman College staff supporting the ACADIA'16 Conference will be assisting with a billeting process to identify possible students hosts that may provide accommodations for visiting students. Details regarding this process will be communicated to students registered at the conference as of Sept 10 2016.
