Touring internationally since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours is an artwork by British artist Luke Jerram. More than 1,500 pianos have now been installed in 50 cities across the globe, from London to Lima, bearing the simple invitation Play Me, I’m Yours. The project has already reached more than ten million people worldwide.
Following on from the success and popularity of Street Pianos Boston 2013, Celebrity Series of Boston is bringing the project back to the city from September 23 to October 10, 2016. During this time, 60 street pianos—all decorated by local artists and community groups—will be available for anyone to play and enjoy. Thank you to all the organizations and artists who applied to host or paint a street piano. The submission process is now closed.
You can start sharing your excitement for the project with the hashtag #streetpianosboston. For an interactive mobile map of the pianos, download the freee Beam.in app on iOS. This website has been set up for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. Whilst documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their communities across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. Choose a piano location to post and/or view films, photos, and comments.
