ZGF Scholarship

Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architectural Scholarship Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation

Providing a pathway to future success for students of architecture and design has been a primary tenet of ZGF since the firm’s founding. With that in mind, in 2004 the firm established the ZGF Scholarship in memory of Norm Zimmer, one of the firm’s founding partners. The scholarship honors Norm’s deep commitment to mentorship and his belief in supporting and nurturing young talent. Administered by the Oregon Community Foundation, the ZGF Scholarship recognizes and fosters students who have demonstrated a talent and passion for design in the study areas of architecture, interior architecture, urban planning and design, and landscape architecture.

To date, the ZGF Scholarship has awarded more than $100,000 to college students across the country. Each year the program honors one student with a $10,000 scholarship + an internship opportunity at one of ZGF’s five US office locations. Students beginning their final year in an accredited program—architecture (NAAB), interior design (CIDA), urban planning (PAB), or landscape architecture (LAAB)— in the fall of 2018, who currently reside in the United States, are eligible to apply.

This year’s application window opened on November 1, 2017. The deadline to submit is February 1, 2018.
